Nothing you type leaves your phone. Something is shared only when you tap a song, and what's shared is the song, never your message.
The MEEP keyboard
- Lyric matching happens entirely on your iPhone. Your typing is not sent to MEEP or anyone else.
- MEEP has no accounts and does not collect your name, contacts, location, or messages.
- When you tap a song suggestion, MEEP inserts a link to that song. The link names the song and the lyric line, nothing about you or your conversation.
- Title matching (optional, off by default). If you turn it on, the last few words you typed are sent to Apple's public music search after you pause, to look for songs with that title. Leave it off and nothing is sent.
- Full Access (optional). iOS asks keyboards for Full Access before they can use the network, sounds, or vibration. MEEP uses it only for key sounds, haptics, album art, previews, and title matching. MEEP does not use it to send what you type anywhere.
The MEEP app
- Songs, previews, and album art come from Apple Music. If you connect Apple Music, playback is handled by Apple under your Apple account.
- Lines you add and your settings are stored only on your iPhone.
- To find the moment a line is sung, MEEP can send the 30-second song preview (the audio from Apple, not anything you said or typed) to Apple's speech recognition. The microphone is never used.
meep.technology song pages
- Song links look like meep.technology/s/123#…. Browsers never send the part after the # to our server, so the lyric stays on the device that opens it.
- We don't use cookies, ads, or analytics. Our host, Cloudflare, processes requests to deliver the pages.
- Song pages are hidden from search engines, so links people send each other never show up in search results.
- Previews and artwork load from Apple. "Apple Music" buttons may include a MEEP affiliate tag, so MEEP earns a referral fee if someone starts a new membership. That tag carries no information about you.
What we'll never do
- Read, store, or sell your messages.
- Sell or share information tied to you.
- Show ads inside the keyboard.
If MEEP ever adds anonymous song counts to show trends, it will count songs, never people. It will be clearly explained in the app, it will come with an off switch, and this page will be updated first.
